“We purchased our Queenstown city center apartment with the dream of having it as our personal holiday getaway. It was so compact that the washing machine was in the bathroom, the shower was so small I could not lift my knee when inside and the kitchen had a large fridge blocking the amazing panoramic mountain and lake views. We knew straight away the potential it had to be great provided we could find a builder that could transform it to maximise the tiny space as well as a builder that could provide tradesman that would exceed my high expectations in a tight time frame. Immediately after meeting with Brad from Heartland Building I felt confident in his ability. He listened carefully to what we wanted to achieve and made suggestions if he felt a different idea would work better within the space and timeframe we had. He assisted us with making decisions on where more money should be invested and where money could be saved. He suggested we move the washing machine into the kitchen and hide it in the cabinetry since we didn’t need much pantry space being a holiday home. He also suggested we reduce the hallway cupboard size which was protruding into the bathroom so in combination with moving the washing machine out of the bathroom it meant that we could now put in a large glass shower with plenty of space. What a difference this made! On one occasion I visited the renovation site without warning and I had the opportunity of viewing Brad and the tiler working at an efficient pace. Throughout the time of the renovations Brad would keep me informed of any potential delays from tradesman and how he intended on combating that by rearranging the order of works to ensure the place was constantly being worked on so no time was wasted.

The renovation was completed in precisely the correct time at which point Brad requested that I inspect all areas and let him know my thoughts. I ran my hand over the tiles and could feel that each tile had been laid immaculately. The joinery in the kitchen was perfectly aligned. The views could now be fully viewed from the kitchen after Brad suggesting we move the fridge to the other wall. The works completed consisted of, new lights, wall heaters, carpet, painting, full new bathroom, kitchen and tiles, double glazing all windows and sliding doors and a new front door. Brad was responsible for ensuring that all of the tradesman not only completed the work within the expected time frame but also on budget and immaculately presented. I have all intentions of using Brad at Heartland Building for any further properties we invest in.”
